Carers Rights Day is an important moment each year. It gives us the chance to pause, reflect, and shine a light on the vital role that family carers play in our communities. Every day, carers provide support, love, and dedication that often goes unseen, yet their contribution is invaluable.
This year, our Essex Carers Network team came together to have an open conversation about what Carers Rights Day means to us. Over a cup of tea, we shared thoughts on the challenges carers face, the importance of knowing your rights, and the need to ensure carers feel recognised and supported.
But we also know that caring doesnβt happen just once a year. Caring is an everyday role β often 24/7 β and thatβs why, as a network, we think of our carers every single day. Our commitment is to support family carers not only on Carers Rights Day, but throughout the year, whenever they need us.
β We invite you to take a moment for yourself: grab a cuppa, sit back, and watch our reflections here:
And weβd love to hear from you, too. If youβre a family carer and would like to share your own reflections on what Carers Rights Day means to you, please do get in touch. Your voice matters, and together we can continue to build a stronger, more supportive network for carers across Essex β every day.
