Essex Carers Network is celebrating Carers Week. We are celebrating because we feel as carers we do a great job with little recognition so we want to celebrate what we do.
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face, and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
The theme for Carers Week 2023 is ‘Recognising and supporting carers in the community’.
We have a full packed week, something for everyone!

OTHER CARERS ORGANISATIONS
In Essex, there are other community Organisations alongside us that support families, offer activities, support groups, Time4You grants and so much more.
Essex Carers Support provides a wide variety of flexible support services directly to family carers.
As a community-based organisation, they work closely with a wide variety of health and social care services to promote and advocate for carers to make sure that their experiences are taken into account and used to improve services when they are being designed and delivered.
Carers First help carers and people who look after someone. They are your first point of contact for information, advice, and guidance. They can offer emotional as well as practical support.
If you’re an unpaid carer, aged 18 and over, supporting someone in Essex, they are here to help with online help and advice, as well as practical and emotional support. Remember, you don’t have to wait until crisis point before asking for help – the earlier you ask, the bigger difference it can make.
Action for Family Carers is an Essex charity which, for 30 years, has been providing information and support for Carers who have unpaid caring responsibilities for others.
We are the only Carers Trust Network Partner and Centre of Excellence in Essex and we have been awarded the Trusted Charity Mark at Level 2, NCVO’s highest quality mark for charity management and governance.
We provide information, advice, befriending, employment, counselling, activity groups and respite day care across the county. We also work with Young Carers and professionals in schools.
