This month we are focusing on Equitable Healthcare – Hospital Passports.
A Hospital Passport is a document that can be useful for people with a learning disability when they need to access the hospital setting, including A&E, outpatients, and scheduled operations. The patient’s Hospital Passports provides important information about them, about how to support them, and about how to communicate with them. Hospital Trusts currently have their own passports, but most will accept them in any format. The passports help hospital staff to arrange reasonable adjustments to support patients in a way they need.
