Grab a cuppa or your favourite tipple and join us for a chat, information sharing, or share your lived experience (if you wish) with other family carers who care for someone with a learning disability which may include autism.
Time: 6.30 pm to 8 pm.

Meeting on the first Thursday of the month at the One Colchester Community Hub, we enjoy a tea or coffee and biscuits, then using a suggested theme we create something with the art/craft materials supplied. The group is free to join if you are a member of ECN.

This month our focus is looking ahead to Spring with flowers. You can draw, paint or craft flowers and Paula has some crafty ways to make 3D flowers that will look lovely in a vase or on your table.

As a family carer, we all agree that putting time aside for ourselves is last on our to-do list.
Self-care for carers is really important, so we do not burn out.
🪑We are piloting a 3-month trial online well-being class for our family carers who care for a loved one with a Learning Disability (which could include Autism and other Disabilities).
💻📱The online Zoom session will be delivered by Sheryl from SWEAT HARLOW and Angela from Butterfly Effect WELLbeing CIC.
🪑🧘The first 30 minutes will be seated stretches followed by 30 minutes of breath work, meditation, and drumming.
(No equipment needed, just a comfortable seat of your choice).
🕥Prompt start at 9.30 am and finish at 10.30 am
🕦From 10.30 am to 11 am we will stay online for anyone who wants to stay for a chat with us.
💷The sessions are FREE to family carers who are registered with us.
