Join us on Wednesday 13th September 10.30am-12noon – at ECL Harlow Day Centre, Pyenest Road, Harlow, Essex, CM19 4LU.
We will have the Carers Lead from Princess Alexandra Hospital talking about the brand new pilot scheme ‘Carers Passport’.
They have developed a family carers passport to ensure that family carers are recognised for the contribution they make to help support their loved ones whilst staying in hospital.
They recognise that when a friend or loved one is dependent on the care provided to them at home, on admission to hospital, they understand that there maybe concerns.
The new scheme will support carers by:
✅ Enabling staff to share details of care plans
✅Concessions such as discounted parking and refreshments in the Alexandra Restaurant
✅Unrestricted visiting times when appropriate
and lots more.
The Carers Lead will talk about this new service, how it works and how to access it.
We will also have a member of the Learning Disability Specialist Health Services who will be talking about the West Essex team, what their role is and how you can access the service.

Our next Craft & Natter Group is on Tuesday 19th of September 2023 from 6.30 pm – 9 pm.

On Wednesday 27th of September Essex Carers Network will have a stand at the Aspiration Pneumonia Prevention Event at the Jobserve Community Stadium, United Way,Colchester.CO4 5UP.
This fully funded event aims to look at how we can identify those at risk of
Aspiration Pneumonia and put prevention measures in place. Event includes:
• speakers from various health disciplines with both clinical and practical advice
• opportunity to gain some certified training
• all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance
• Marketplace with professionals and company reps during breaks
• a choice of workshops to attend on specific issues linked with Aspiration

This is essentially an event for adult social care providers, but we do have several
places for other professionals and for family/informal carers
If you are attending, do come and say hello at our stand.
