For some time now we have been exploring the option of hosting meeting spaces for our families on a much more local level, ensuring that more voices and experiences influence what future opportunities look like for people with a learning disability, which may include autism and their families in Essex. These meetings will give us the opportunity for us to share information and resources with you and we plan to invite local organisations and social work and health teams to come along periodically to talk directly to families in their area.
We are excited to be hosting our first local Space to Gather meeting on Tuesday 30th June. This informal coffee and chat group is for family carers from Tendring who care for an adult with a learning disability that may include autism. Please come along to meet us or give us a call if you want further details.
