The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism aims to provide the social care and health workforce with the right skills and knowledge to provide safe, compassionate, and informed care to autistic people and people with a learning disability.

The government is running a consultation on the code of practice for the training. Use the link below to access the code of practice and the option to respond.

This consultation will run for a period of 12 weeks and is open to anyone with an interest in the draft code.

Essex Carers Network have co-signed a letter with other members of LDE (https://www.learningdisabilityengland.org.uk/) asking the government to produce an easy read consultation.

Members are very frustrated that there is no easy read for this consultation. It is really important people with learning disabilities voices are heard on this topic.

LDE are working with Bemix to hold a session on the 8th September at 1:30pm for people with learning disabilities and autistic people to share their views.
