GP Learning Disability Register – Is your loved one on it?

Essex Carers Network have often had conversations about Learning Disability Registers at GP surgeries. Many families do not know what they are or of what benefit registering can provide.

NHS England have produced this series of leaflets (including Easy Read) to inform people what a learning disability is, how it differentiates from a learning difficulty and why people should register with their GP. Understanding how to access Annual Health Checks, Health Action Plans, reasonable adjustments, vaccinations and Carers Health Checks can all be found on the leaflet and website, with information on how to become registered.
